Solar powered remote Wi-Fi system provides remote access to internet to the tourists visiting Jumeirah Beach adjacent to Burj Al Arab. Solar panels charge battery as in any off grid solar PV system. The energy stored is used for powering remote devices that provide internet to visitors close the the changing booths.
Apex Power Concepts was given the task of retrofitting PV modules and the related components on the existing structure of the changing booth. Plus, given the sensitivity of the area, a time dependent load control was desired. Combining standard products with a combination of switchgear and relay, the above systems were successfully installed and commissioned.
There are more than 300 such changing rooms lined along the beach front of Dubai. Pending initial approvals from the authorities, all the booths will eventually be covered with solar panels for powering Wi-Fi devices.
